Scott Fitzgerald De Tamble is a Clinical Hypnotherapist in Southern California, specializing in Past Life Regression and Life Between Lives Spiritual Regression. For the past 21 years he has dedicated himself to guiding thousands of clients to a deeper understanding of their eternal soul and their current life's mission.
He is a contributing author to the Newton Institute books, “Memories of the Afterlife” and “Wisdom of Souls.” His session work is highlighted in films and books, including Richard Martini's “Flipside,” and “Hacking the Afterlife,” and Michael Kramer’s “Soul to God.”
Scott is also a trainer, offering education and certification in Hypnotherapy and Past Life Regression. In addition to his continuing private session work, Scott also presents public talks, guides Group Past Life Regressions, and mentors Past Life and LBL hypnotherapists.
From Savarna– I met Scott in 2010 when he was one of the instructors in my LBL training course. Immediately, I had the sense that this man knows the work and that there was more than technical knowledge in the mix. He seemed to carry an innate understanding of the realms and how to navigate them with respect and curiosity. It has been a joy to circle back around and feature his voice in SOTA.
Savarna: Good to see you Scott. Though our paths have crossed over the years, I realized I never asked you how you started in this work. What in your background prepared you to do this work and prompted you to begin offering LBL?
Scott: As a young child, I was fascinated with the past. Dinosaurs, fossils, paleontology, and the earlier geologic epochs, the history of this world and the life it contains. Later, I became more interested in human history, archaeology, ancient peoples and cultures, and mythology. I was drawn to other times and places.
At the same time, I felt there was more to existence than meets the eye. Did I only start at conception or birth? Where was I before I was born? For that matter, where was the universe before it was created? What is the true origin of everything?
Seeking ‘the unseen reality,’ I devoured books and information relating to magic, metaphysics, the occult, mystic arts, spirituality and religion. At a certain point, all of these studies sparked a fierce desire to explore my own and others’ past lives. I could certainly feel their reality and their siren call. It was actually while studying in the metaphysics section at my local library that I chanced upon Michael Newton’s book ‘Journey of Souls.’ I had been exposed to much of the information before, but there were new marvels, and as you know, he fashioned his findings into such a beautiful whole. And a Method.
Later I became a clinical hypnotherapist specializing in Past Life Regression, and a few years later saw on an internet group that Michael would be conducting a training in Life Between Lives not far from where I lived in Southern California. I attended that training in 2004, and wow, did it ever open things up.
It certainly did open for you. After all these years, what is one of the favorite things you enjoy about facilitating LBL journeys?
The whole thing still fascinates me. I really love meeting people and helping them remember who they really are.
I really enjoy being creative and artistic in sessions. With the needs of my client always uppermost in my mind, it’s fun and satisfying to blend the framework Michael has given us with the inner voice of my own creativity, along with the whispers of my own and my clients’ Spirit Guides and teachers.
Another favorite part is interacting with Spiritual Beings during sessions. Through my clients, I get to consult with Spirit Guides, Council members, and a host of other incredible energies and essences, including ascended masters, archangels, avatars, and various higher-dimensional Beings. And all the way up to the iconic religious figures of our times. It’s pretty astonishing to be able to communicate with these Great Ones through my clients. Of course, we’re focused on trying to shine light on the client’s present life and journey; but it’s quite an honor and privilege to share in the energy, wisdom, and compassion of these advanced souls.
Yes, I too love to be in the energy of those beautiful beings, and it seems that much help is being offered to humanity at this time. In LBL, we can learn so much about such things as our soul nature. In working with clients, what teachings have come through that have been especially impactful?
Sometimes it’s the simple things that are most meaningful. For a lot of people, it’s very important to just re-experience and remember that, at death, their existence isn’t snuffed out like a candle flame. On the contrary, it’s almost like life really begins, these physical lifetimes being intense but just temporary field trips in our souls’ epic journeys through time and space.
Another important benefit of these sessions is for people to realize they are not alone. Yes, it may seem so when we’re down and out at various points in our lives. When we are suffering, it feels like God has deserted us. But there are always Guides, angelic beings, crossed-over loved ones, and others in spirit who are monitoring our progress. They are available to us, if we can but still our minds, ask, and trust what comes.
How about your own LBL experience? I imagine you have experienced more than one LBL session. I found there was a surprising continuity as in my LBL journeys as if the guides etc. just take up where we left off. How about you?
Yes! Like you, I’ve found a certain continuity; or I might say that each session expands my awareness of the arc of my soul’s wider activities. All of the sessions, given and received, also expand my understanding that we are pretty spectacular multi-dimensional beings. I’ve had perhaps a dozen or more full LBL sessions myself so far, and I’m always up for the next!
How has this affected my life in the here and now? I would say there is a certain acceptance that comes. I have my dramas and challenges like everyone else, but there does come a realization that the struggles are not going to last forever. And they truly are for a higher purpose. In the midst of a painful experience, do I remember this? Certainly not! I fuss and fume and fight as much as anyone. Probably more! But at some point, a grace comes in and says, hey, maybe you’re just taking one for the team. Lighten up. Learn.
Another interesting aspect of my sessions has been the opening and remembrance of many lifetimes on worlds other than Earth. I seem to have traveled around quite a bit. Our world here is a beautiful jewel, but it’s a big universe out there. Time is also vast, and if sentient, incarnate-able life has been around here for say, a couple million years, that’s a grain of sand in the hourglass of Creation. There are so many environments to see and visit, and in which to learn. Michael’s term was ‘Hybrid Souls,’ souls that started their incarnations on other worlds, but are now living on Earth. I just call them ‘Star People,’ and I seem to attract them, because more than half of my clients also share this lineage.
Our theme for this issue of the journal is Soul Mates and Soul Groups. What have you learned via LBL journeys about this topic?
It’s funny, because when I first read Journey of Souls in the library as mentioned, Soul Groups was something new and it stuck in my mind. I thought about some of my sports and music buddies that I hung out with in high school and afterwards, and I wondered about our soul history.
In Journey, Michael referred to Soul Groups as being in ‘Cluster Groups,’ an inner circle of a larger group. Later in Destiny of Souls, he also mentions ‘Study Groups’ or working groups. So what I’ve found is that some people have several different soul groups that they belong to and interact with.
It seems that souls begin with a birth or cluster group, with whom they’ll always be connected; but as they grow and evolve, they gain entrance into other groups with whom they may share a particular interest. For example, I know a person who is involved with a Healer Group, an Artist Group, and an Explorer Group. I believe they keep in touch with their original group too, just like you can go back and visit your kindergarten teacher, or neighborhood people that you’ve known since childhood. But we do move on, and as we develop and progress, we may spend more time with newer friends and groups.
I’ve also seen that with some Soul Groups, new people will come in, and elder members may leave and move on. So, Soul Groups are not cast in stone, but are fluid over the eons.
Regarding Soul Mates and romantic love, there’s so much to say. We’ll have to save that for another time!
Yes, that is a big topic, but it seems that Michael Newton and his wife Peggy were the kind of soul mates who came together in a way that allowed them to offer the gift to humanity. Since you trained with them, can you comment on that?
Oh, absolutely. I have to believe Michael and Peggy are definitely Primary Soul Mates big time. There’s an interesting story about how a young Michael saw a magazine advertisement with a model dressed as a nurse, and I think the name ‘Peggy’ was somehow involved. And he experienced some kind of inner knowing that this was a foreshadowing of their meeting. I forget how they actually met, but I believe she was indeed a nurse.
They lived a long life together, raised a family, and so on. They were both involved in healing professions. Later, at the LBL trainings I attended, whenever he was present, there she was also. He would be planning or conducting his lectures, and she would be doing administrative work, helping students get oriented or paired up, and performing other supporting tasks. Michael had a lot on his shoulders, especially at the earlier trainings; and I think she was an important grounding influence for him, just being there for him to lean on. She was also very warm and calming with the students. She was positive and encouraging in a matter-of-fact way, and she helped a lot of people whose heads were swimming with new information to just feel more comfortable. So yes, I would have to agree there must have been a major plan for these two special soul mates to work together for this world-changing project.
Some of the readers of SOTA are interested in becoming an LBL hypnotherapist and wonder what it’s like to do this work. What do you think are the qualities that are important for an LBL therapist to have?
First of all, a purity of heart and a true desire to help. It’s necessary to understand that we are placing ourselves in service to our client and to the universe. ‘Lightworker’ is perhaps a cliche term, but in our humble way, that’s who we are and what we’re doing. Opening doors and allowing more light into this world.
A very important quality for an LBL therapist is the ability to be quiet and listen because we need to deeply understand what our client is wanting and needing in this session.
Kindness, empathy, and compassion for the human experience. Patience, endurance, and also an iron bladder, because these sessions are lengthy!
Intuition is definitely a plus. The branches and paths we can take in a session are almost infinite, so we need to try and feel our way through to the most important issues that we can uncover for our client in this particular session. Flexibility and creativity are also needed, because our clients’ sessions often color outside the lines of our prescribed path.
Then, there is that love and appreciation for the spiritual beings who help us because we could not do these sessions without them.
What do you think is important to be included when training students to facilitate LBL?
The nuts and bolts, the techniques of guiding these sessions, that’s obviously fundamental to learn and practice.
I would say that learning to do a thorough Pre-Talk with our clients is an absolute must, because we have to deal with very high expectations. It’s essential that we prepare people for what’s actually likely to happen in their session, what it’s going to feel like. We can also give them tips on how to work things, so they can get the most out of their experience.
In addition, I think it’s crucial to spend a fair amount of time in helping students learn about troubleshooting and navigating sessions that go off-script. Because a large number of them definitely will. And we want to be prepared for that.
There’s really something very special about becoming an LBL therapist. There is an aura of initiation into a high spiritual community because you are about to be given the means and opportunity to help people in a very profound way. You are also joining forces with powerful spiritual Beings, the Spirit Guides and others you will be teaming up with on behalf of your clients. LBL therapy is a powerful tool. There will be joyfulness, fun, and light! But I think people also need to accord this work the solemnity and respect it deserves.
Dr Newton expressed that when person is in deep grief or is experiencing high levels of anxiety that it is not advisable to do LBL until the present day issues are resolved to some extent. What is your experience with this?
A lot of people do come to us when they lose a family member or spouse, and it’s always heart-wrenching. Especially when it’s a child. If a death or loss is fairly recent, they may still be in shock, and it may be difficult for them to get out of the way of their grief and emotion.
In sessions, when moving people through their own past life death, we often see that the newly ‘liberated’ spirit wants to comfort the living, but they can’t really communicate much through the emotional storms of the person left behind. The grief can be like a chaotic shield surrounding a person and preventing any meaningful spiritual connection. So yes, if someone is still acutely suffering the agonies of deep grief and emotion, it’s probably not the best idea to go ahead with a session just yet.
What would be an ideal time to wait? A few weeks, a few months? A year? I can’t place a number on it because every individual’s experience is so unique. We just have to talk and feel things out.
In the case of a person feeling extreme anxiety, that can be a little different. Depending on what’s going on with that person, we might be able to actually utilize that anxiety as a bridge to its root cause. Again, every case is unique.
People sometimes hope LBL would be The Thing that would solve all problems. Do you see that in your clients?
Someone close to me once observed: “People come to you and ask, ‘Can you fix all of my fifty years of problems in an afternoon? And, can I see God? Oh… and can I get a discount with that?!’ ”
I’ve had clients who visited with a licensed counselor or psychotherapist every week for years, with little resolution of their core issue beyond learning some coping strategies. Yet, for some reason, they expect a hypnotherapist, especially the LBL hypnotherapist, to wave their magic wand and resolve everything in a day.
So yes, unrealistic expectations can be an issue. People need to understand that authors don’t generally portray their mediocre or failed sessions in books. What the public is seeing is the very cream of the crop. So I think it’s okay to explain that there is a wide spectrum of experiences that are possible.
Yes. The steps that lead up to being ready for an LBL are important. Nothing is lost in good preparation as many healings can happen which set the stage to get the most out of a session.
When working with others, do you see a trend in what is being offered to people these days? For instance, I see that for those who are ready, accessing the state is much easier these days. Also, clients seem to going to one or two sources of wisdom and getting what they need to impact their life in the here and now.
I think the folks coming to us now are a little different bunch than those Michael worked with in his time. Yes, I agree that, as time goes on, people are perhaps a little more adept at accessing their soul histories and energies. Also I would agree that the sessions are becoming a bit more consolidated in that we’re getting what we need with less flitting about. Quality is taking precedence over quantity.
When you read about LBL sessions, there are so many things to do; from places of rest and healing, to visiting with Spirit Guides, visiting with Soul Group friends, Councils, libraries, places of Life Selection, and more. It’s like Disneyland up there! And so, focusing on what a person really needs at this moment, the LBL journeys are also becoming a bit more focused. It’s not necessary to visit every attraction in Disneyland to have plenty of fun and really enjoy the magical atmosphere.
The last few years have been very full of change, and for many people, challenge. People are feeling the effects of greater polarization, covid concerns, uncertainty and fear. Is there anything you would like to offer that feels timely and of benefit for humanity right now?
Yes, we’ve been doing a lot of Guide and Council questioning about these things in sessions. What they are saying is that it’s indeed a time of great change. And it’s an opportunity for humanity, and perhaps the Earth itself, to level-up and ascend to a higher frequency.
Regarding the pandemic, there really was no place to hide from Covid. So this has been a chance to realize we’ve become so very interwoven and connected. The message was: we’re all in this together. It’s also been a chance for individuals to take a time-out and look at themselves and their lives. Who am I? What do I really want to do with my time here?
Likewise, it’s been a chance for us to look at the way we’ve treated our planet. Do you remember after the first lockdowns, with just a bit less human activity in the environment, how the fish and bird populations started bouncing back? Climate change too, and our role in it, has become impossible to ignore.
The political and social polarization is essentially about fear, the fear of losing power or identity. The social justice movements for women and minorities happened because longstanding wrongs were exposed, and they need to be righted. It’s actually a little reminiscent of the 1960s, when injustice, the futility of war and violence, and the trashing of the environment were brought to light.
Everything moves in cycles, so there is much cause for hope. Advancing technologies and electronic inter-connectedness, innovations in commerce and financial systems, new generations of souls coming in… it’s a pretty exciting time to be alive! I love that nations and private companies are launching rocket ships into space nearly every week. In the 60s, we were reaching for the Moon, and we attained it. Now, we are looking towards Mars. We will attain that, and we will continue to expand.
Not long ago, I was told in a session that, “The completed Ascension could take 80 years. But it’s coming.” Recently I asked another client’s Spirit Guide about navigating this time period. Their suggestion: “Stay in the love frequency.”
Stay in the Love frequency…beautiful and simple advice.
Thank you Scott for sharing your experience with such wisdom, candor and clarity. ♥
