I had the pleasure of talking with Claudia Hilton, an LBL facilitator and long-time practitioner of the healing and intuitive arts. Claudia is a beautiful embodiment of enthusiasm and creativity. The depth, curiosity and goodwill she brings to Life is a gift to all. Enjoy her story! -Savarna

Growing up in Nassau, Bahamas, I was a sensitive child with numerous spiritual experiences from an early age. Fortunately, I had a large, loving, multigenerational family who supported and nurtured me. However, I often felt lonely, as it seemed I was the only one perceiving things beyond our usual dimension. In my thirties, I sought to connect with like-minded individuals. I began teaching meditation and engaging with others who shared my interests. During this time, I befriended a prominent medium from Canada named Marilyn Rossner, who invited me to the annual conference organized by her and her husband for the psychic and spiritual sciences, known as The Institute of Integral and Human Sciences.

At one of these conferences I first met Dr. Michael Newton, who had just published his debut book, Journey of Souls. I was thrilled by all that I discovered and learned, which set me on a lifelong path of spiritual exploration; however, it wasn't yet the right moment to understand how to integrate Dr. Newton's method into my life.

I later encountered several natural-born mediums within the Bahamas, as well as Scotland, Great Britain, the U.S. Many of them had been influenced by the UK Spiritualist movement. We decided to form a group and meet weekly to explore psychic and spiritual subjects. Our first gathering was mighty and profound, as we quickly entered deep trance states and experienced the presence of spiritual guides and loved ones. We realized this was a genuine opportunity to expand our spiritual awareness. These profound moments filled us with a sense of grace and wonder. Over two years, we received instruction from higher beings of light regarding how to work with divine light energies. Our spiritual teachers and occasional masters would channel information and guidance to help us deepen our spiritual connections and connect with our higher selves.

We learned how to clear spaces of negative energy, assist confused or stuck souls in the lower realms, understand the necessity of individual soul growth, and navigate other dimensions of time and space, among many other things. We were always profoundly grateful for the blessings of Divine Loving Light. This experience became a source of nourishment for our souls. Eventually, our small circle concluded after two years, and we each moved on to our unique service callings in different parts of the world. I seized every opportunity to learn and grow, attending workshops and courses that ranged from studying energy with Russian psychics to remote viewing.

Eventually, I became a certified hypnotherapist under Jack Elias in Seattle in 1999. After seven years of practice, I applied to train with Dr. Michael Newton in 2006. When I met him, we discussed our mutual friend, Dr. Rossner, and the unconventional opportunities she offered for people to develop their abilities outside of traditional academia. Dr. Newton introduced me to a more structured approach, which made me feel competent and empowered, and I loved it! Meeting my fellow students and hearing Dr. Newton share his stories were some of the highlights of my life.

Interestingly, as I reflect on my journey, I’ve noticed that a sense of loneliness has only recently returned. Over the past few months, it has encouraged me to explore new avenues of self-discovery and service. This experience reminds me that loneliness can sometimes come with a higher purpose, nudging us toward paths we might not have ventured down without the impetus of that feeling. While I’m uncertain how it will all unfold, I’ve felt tremendous energy to delve into new realms, and I’m both delighted and enthusiastic about it!

In many sessions I facilitate, a common underlying theme is loneliness. People seek insight for various reasons: some feel unhappy or grapple with chaos and a lack of purpose, while others sense that there is much more they could experience beyond this physical existence. They often undergo significant transformation as they connect with higher dimensions of being—beyond time and space—and engage with their Higher Self and the true essence of their Soul. They feel their isolation melt away and experience the bliss of realizing they are never alone. They become aware that loving beings of light surround them and experience a profound sense of unity with all that is. As a facilitator, I must remain focused, holding sacred space for whatever that Soul may need to experience to bring it into complete alignment with those higher frequencies of consciousness. The phrase “experience a profound sense of unity with all that is” may seem simple, yet it fails to express the significant shifts in their body, mind, and spirit during these elevated states of consciousness. Encouraging them to share their feelings, perceptions, and insights is crucial, but it can be challenging as they bask in that pure bliss of wonder and love, wanting to remain in that state! I have been called a “bliss bunny buster!”

In this state, individuals gain valuable insights into their true soul purpose, relationships, and personal creative power. These revelations pave the way for a transformative shift that guides them toward a more fulfilling and expansive way of being. Upon returning to the present moment, the empowerment they feel can initially be overwhelming as they begin to integrate the significance of their discoveries. One of my roles as a facilitator is to help them process and assimilate these insights so they feel empowered and can re-enter their world with a renewed sense of purpose and the tools to realign when needed.

I feel that my ability to support a client’s process has grown, and most of the time, I can recognize and understand what they are experiencing, sometimes even before they articulate it. I approach things by allowing them to unfold organically so clients can discover insights and connect those to what they are trying to understand. In these higher realms, beyond the dramas of personality, one can see everything clearly from this elevated perspective, and the things that once felt overwhelming in their current lives start to diminish into something more tangible and easier to manage.

My soul has evolved significantly through countless hours spent in these elevated realms. My understanding has expanded, and I hope it continues to grow as I explore the greater purpose of the human experience, recognizing the various dimensions of time and space inhabited by different aspects of my soul. I remain open to seeking many levels of understanding and awareness. The clients who come to me now are very different from those in the early days of my practice. Because I work closely with my higher guidance, I trust that each person I engage with also teaches me and contributes to my soul's growth. Discovering this brings me deep fulfillment and clarity about my soul's purpose, which is constantly changing and expanding. In my experience, the higher power of Divine Spiritual energies works for our highest good and is accessible when we allow ourselves to enter that space. I am developing the ability to be more present in that expanded awareness, which brings me joy.

Reflecting on my years of working with people, I've incorporated all the tools and insights I've gathered. At seventy-five, I feel excitement and energy as something new unfolds. Yesterday, I heard an interview with Jacques Vallee and was deeply moved. He referenced early consciousness researchers like Russell Targ, Hal Puthoff, and Ingo Swann, whom I met and learned from in the early days of SRI research. I trained with Ingo Swann in remote viewing for one year in Montreal at the same IIIS Conference, and during the college weeks, I first heard from and met Dr. Newton. There have been countless training sessions and opportunities to learn methods and techniques that I have tried to embrace to fulfill my true soul’s purpose. I encourage all our members, along with future facilitators, healers, and teachers, to remain open to continuous learning. I must admit that some of today's advanced technology still eludes me! One of our colleagues, James Guiry, has impressed me with his creative ability to bring people’s experiences to life in such a vivid way through video and the way Sue Joy Sobota incorporates sound into her sessions. I hope our new members feel comfortable using these technological tools, which convey so much more when sharing the experience of higher states of consciousness.

Many minor signs and synchronicities occur daily. The natural world, including its elements, plants, trees, and animals, can help us remain steady as we achieve all that our souls have set out to do during our time on this precious planet Earth. Remember that humanity creates the experiences chosen by each soul for its growth. In our work and play, we recognize this truth. Holding that inner perspective as we navigate today’s world nurtures greater inner peace, compassion, understanding, and love. The experience of loneliness may be the driving force that propels one toward those higher new paths that hold treasures of spiritual awakening. ♥
