Pre-selection of Life Experiences before Incarnation versus Continuous Choices

by Dr. Dorothea Fuckert, M.D., Certified LBL Hypnotherapist, Germany

A frequent question in LBL sessions is “Did I plan experience X before this incarnation, or did I create it somehow during this current life?” The answer from spirit guides and wise beings is sometimes “A, sometimes B” and occasionally “A and B.” How can we understand this seeming contradiction?

From Michael Newton’s discoveries and thousands of collected cases, from channel mediums, traditional seers and wisdom teachers, we know that our Souls decide and choose incarnations, each in a specific environmental setting, that we choose in attunement with our guides, wise beings and soul groups- the human bodies, parents, siblings, soul-mates, friends, co-workers and antagonists. It is also commonly shared that we pre-select essential life experiences. All this is serving specific lessons, connected with a defined individual (and also collective) purpose. It is about healing, teaching and growing. We learn through forgetting and remembering, trial and error, exploration and play, pain and joy. As we understand it, the (our) intention for all (human) experience is the evolution of consciousness and the development towards compassion, unconditional love and divine completion. In LBL sessions we are gaining fascinating insights into the process of pre-selection of lives and how we are choosing our lessons, among other information.

Many spiritually oriented people believe that all life experiences are chosen before incarnation and that the Soul’s plan is something fixed for a whole life. It’s nourished by the term ‘Soul-Plan’ itself and by books. This conception can be as devastating as the belief in predestination or in karma as way of punishment for deeds in previous lives. There is a high probability that it causes guilt feelings, resignation and fatalism. It can lead to similar lethargy and powerlessness as produced by religious institutions since millennia. The worst result is cynicism. Telling a severely traumatized person who is still suffering in agony that the experience was chosen before incarnation would be cynic and inadequate, even if said with a compassionate voice.

However, somewhere on the evolutionary path our Soul invokes us to develop full self-responsibility and self-empowerment. A client recently wanted to ask in her LBL session, if she has chosen her morbid obesity before incarnation. She wrote, if the answer given to her would be that the overweight was preselected, she would just accept it. Between the lines one could read that she wanted to go on with her eating habits. If I remember it correctly, Michael N. taught that preselected lessons are not set in stone. There are indeed options and turning points in life.

It’s a different question upon which beliefs these choices during life are based. Our Higher Soul and Spirit helpers always encourage us to live from our highest possible potentials. This includes the awakening of the human consciousness to be fully responsible creators. Pre-selections are possibilities and probabilities which can be manifested or not and can even be attuned to the dynamics of inner processes and outer events. By growing up into adulthood, collecting experiences and gaining self-definition, we become more and more able to apply our own will. This can mean to make conscious choices, whether according to the Soul’s planned learning lessons or by neglecting or changing them. In addition we can decide subconsciously, disconnected from our Soul, especially from the Higher Self (the not incarnated part of the Soul), and act from other motives.

Unfortunately, this phenomenon is still predominant on our planet: a major part of the population is creating their life experiences subconsciously, without higher awareness, disconnected from their Soul-Self and its true goals. Choices and actions are most often based upon fears, anxieties, feelings of guilt and unworthiness, restricting (cultural and individual) belief patterns, unreleased traumata, ignorance or carelessness. This leads to the perpetrator/victim entrapments and results in the world situation we are faced today.
I am not convinced that all misery is pre-selected before incarnation. I especially doubt that all catastrophes stem from an original Soul-Plan. In some LBL sessions I witnessed that numerous miserable lives were merely self-sabotage from subconscious guilty feelings for one deed, which happened hundreds of years ago in our timeline. True self-forgiving from the heart and self-love were not yet developed. Also, many clients had to recognize that in some incarnations they had hurt others out of carelessness, or had killed out of ignorance, or that some physical accidents happened by inattentiveness. All these were neither preselected nor consciously chosen during life, but subconsciously manifested. I heard such answers from higher sources frequently. Anyway, each painful experience, calamity or catastrophe provides a chance for healing, learning and growing, as our Soul is sending continuous signals and is speaking constantly to us in various ways.

The more we are following this guidance, howsoever we can perceive it, be it consciously or intuitively, the more we get into harmony with our Soul’s goals. On the other side, we may stay disconnected as long as we want to. We can go detours, backdrop or “fail” completely. Earth is a planet of free choice. Having this plenty of chances to try, err, learn and grow is an exceptional spiritual privilege. The spirit guides and wise helpers don’t judge or punish anyone for staying disconnected. Only we humans do this by our (inner) critique, by guilt feelings and condemnation of others. An essential lesson for the race is therefore to deeply understand that guilt and judgment are the human mind’s own creation which never ever helped in any way in history, to the contrary. We have to give this finally up by (self-) compassion, (self-) acceptance and (self-) forgiving which is always more difficult to learn than forgiving others. From a higher spiritual perspective the (our) divine plan may encompass all dualistic thinking and its results. Finally, we are called to learn a heart- based life which means living from compassion, love, joy, trust, freedom and power as responsible co-creators. However, humanity is still learning and remembering love from that which is not love.

Many clients ask in their LBL session “Did I choose my experienced sexual abuse (or any disaster) before incarnation? Or did I create it somehow in this current life?” With the client’s allowance I am usually adding some more questions: “On which plane was the experience chosen?”, “When was it decided?”, “Which aspects contributed to it?”, “How did it come into reality?”, “Could I have avoid or prevent it in any way?” and “Which purpose did/does it serve at last?” The answers vary and are always related to the single individual and its connections to others.

I am convinced that the preselection of a life experience always includes the option to change it. A soul, willing to incarnate into a female body and planning to be a mother has the option to decide differently in the course of her life. It can also be the other way around. Both ways were revealed as matter of facts for a number of clients in my practice. From this clearly given option, I conclude that if a soul should ever select before a human incarnation the experience as a perpetrator, maybe for some specific lessons and in agreement with others, let’s say with possible victims, this can be changed during life and before the incident would be manifested. Each adult human could gain insight or get signals, would contribute then to avoid the chosen probability, mitigate its progression or withdraw completely from the involvement, if possible. I remember some reports about passengers of the last Titanic shipping who had intuitions or incidents, days before its loss or on their way to the harbor, and didn’t go on board. We know suchlike from people shortly before the Tsunami in South-East Asia 2004. Imagine similar occurrences on larger scales, when most involved individuals would withdraw and the disaster would be prevented. In logical conclusion, there are likewise options and choices the other way around. We may disconnect during the course of life from our Soul’s higher goals and participate subconsciously in the manifestation of a catastrophe, for instance a war or a crime, whether as initiator, contributor or/and as victim.

It’s still a huge challenge for our mind to grasp that we not only preselect life lessons before incarnation and make decisions continuously during life, but that we also may create constantly our personal reality as well as co-create our shared world. What if the souls’ consciousness’ neither pre-select their life lessons at one certain point of time, nor in a planned chronological order? What if we co-create realities in a constant, interwoven, synchronous process, on a super-conscious, higher-dimensional plane, where past, present and future fall together and influence each-other in all time directions? This seems more plausible to me than a dualistic concept in the linear time frame of “whether before incarnation or during life”. There is a brilliant description of such fascinating interrelations in ‘The Oversoul Seven Trilogy’ by Jane Roberts.

All this seems even more complex than we can grasp up till now. It’s still a mystery how we could possibly manifest our personal and collective intents into physical realities. So far, we have only some hints from the sources of higher spiritual wisdom, some own visions, clues or theories of such a constant, synchronous creation. We do know however that most of the human potential is still to be dis-covered and that our Souls’ gifts are awaiting their full recollection and integration. ♥
