More Than One Way

More Than One Way

This is a story of a souls learning about the beauty that life has to offer and how there is always more than one way of doing things. As we open to the many opportunities this life has to offer us, we are able to see through eyes of compassion that we are all doing the best that we can, and to remember there is always more than one way for our path to unfold.

Mike is a forty-eight-year-old man who was born and raised in the U.S. He has been married for twenty-nine years and has three children two sons and a daughter. He has been in media and video production for the last 10 years and been working on his own spiritual growth through a wonderful online show that he created. He is a talented musician and composer, as well. He has filled many occupational roles in his lifetime before this career path led him to explore his own human journey further. He came from a very religious Christian home and has been feeling the call to explore beyond his religious upbringing and find his own truth regarding God and Spirit. As he explored the many avenues of healing this world has to offer he came across the work of The Newton Institute and contacted me for a past life and a life-between-lives regression.

Mike wanted to get a deeper understanding about his purpose in this life and how it ties into his work, he felt a calling to expand his knowledge and personal journey further and wanted to become a teacher and a writer so he can help others on their path. He also wanted to get clarity around the different relationships that he has with his family members. He wanted to understand why he chose the path of a strict and organized religion and why he chose his parents to facilitate that. He also wanted to understand his present path with his wife as they grow together, as well as the paths that his children have chosen. He told me that his eldest son was struggling with drug addiction and had contemplated suicide. This made the purpose of the session especially important for Mike.

Mike experienced a past life regression with me prior to his LBL. He regressed to lifetimes where he was in a position of power and authority with responsibility for others. His main life lesson was about learning to release the responsibilities that weren’t genuinely his and to allow others the free will to guide themselves. He also made initial contact with his guide, Ruman, that helped him understand some of these life choices and how they tie to his current life and relationships. He learned that he is loved and accepted no matter what. Another strong message was that he can help others by showing more compassion and less ego-centered judgment in his everyday life.

When Mike came back two months later for his LBL session, we explored further. I set up Mike’s safe place prior to the regression (a therapeutic device used in the LBL process). Mike’s safe place was a beautiful garden set in a meadow, with a few benches laid around, a place of peace and tranquility. Later he will return to this place in spirit form and realize that it is the setting chosen for the meeting with his guide.

Mike regressed to a past life where he was a Native American Indian. He connected with his responsibility to hunt as “Eagle” and is a provider and warrior for the community. He expressed his sadness knowing that the “white man” will come and take over the land where his community lives.

Client (C): The white people are in our land, they are trying to cause problems, taking the land. We have to hunt buffalo now, we are riding now (Eagle and the other hunters). I hate them (the white people), I want to kill them, and they want to kill me so it’s war. There is wagon train … we attack them and they attack us. There is blood and I’m trying to ride away and I get shot.

Here Mike begins to rise up and away from his body, Mike is still feeling the anger as he rises up and he is still taking the shape of his physical native body as “Eagle” and looking down on that life.

C: I’m still angry … why did they come here, take our land … why did they kill me? I was just trying to provide for my family.

His guide Ruman is intervening and trying to lighten up the energy. The scene begins to fade away and he is taken back to the garden from the beginning of our journey and is joined by his guide on one of the benches. Ruman talks to him about the main lesson of this life as Eagle, saying there is more than one way to do things. There were many paths that he could have taken.

Therapist (T): Ruman said you are holding on to the feeling of injustice when things don’t go right. Is this something that Mike also holds on to?

C: Yes, injustice, taking advantage of … but there is always more than one way to do it. Religion taught me that there is only one way to do things and he says there is always more than one way.

T: Why was it important for Mike to experience that “one way” religion?

C: So you can realize that there are more ways than one , when you experience the one. There is more than one way to have a relationship, there is more than one way to make money. The universe is abundant there are always many ways, like a Rubik’s cube, there are many ways to solve it.

T: How does this tie to the feeling of injustice that Mike experiences?

C: When I narrow my mind and only see one way, I feel victimized but there is more than one way. Its the same with Ted (my son). I only see one way but he can have a different way to live his life.

Mike is reflecting on his life as Eagle

C: There was only one way – the white people had to leave. For me, there was only one way – they wanted me to leave. We couldn’t find any other ways to live. Yet, there were many other ways we could have figured out how to co-exist. Creativity IS finding other ways, just like with music, it doesn’t have to be one way, there are other ways to do that.

T: That’s something that Mike can really relate to? Is Mike more open to “other ways”?

C: Sometimes there is an optimal way to create it musically with a chord pattern but you can play with that and do different things within the pattern.

T: I want you to take moment and notice how there are areas in your life as Mike where this lesson comes easily to you even though there are other areas where you find it difficult.

C: That feels so good! There is ultimate creativity, it doesn’t matter where you start, what key you are in or chord you are playing, it’s unlimited, you can do anything. When I’m on the piano, I play the piano, there is joy and peace, I can play sad or I can play happy, I can play angry or I can play relaxed. I can play everything, create different sounds, rhythms, different speeds and tempo. It’s the gift of music that teaches me how to be creative so I can put that into my life, I can feel the music and I can feel my relationship, and my abundance and the different ways it can be, just like music.

T: Notice you already have some really amazing life tools, even though you picked religion to tie you into the one way so you can expand, you also came into the life with music that teaches all the other ways to help you solve problems in your life.

Mike had questions about his marriage and children. He and his wife have been talking about opening their relationship so they can experience other connections with people, Mike was open to the idea and then struggled with it and we wanted to get more clarity from his guide.

C: Ruman tells me I have to create it within myself, if he tells me the answer I’ll fall into that same trap of believing it is the “one way” (to do it). He says you get to be a creator and you get to create what you want because there is more than one way. All the answers are within you, you have your intuition and there is no right answer, whatever you choose is the right answer, anything can work – even if you choose “the wrong way” it still brings you back to your soul’s truth. You can’t choose anything wrong because you are always learning and growing from everything.

T: We agree, then, there is no reason to be afraid of making the wrong choice because that doesn’t exist, it’s just like making music, there is no reason to be afraid of hitting the wrong notes, we just call that jazz.

C: Yes, there is space where you can mess around and make mistakes but if you hit the perfect flow (with your notes and music) you will know it and it just feel so good.

His guide talked to him about his marriage. How he and his wife make the “band”, making beautiful music together, but there are other ways to enjoy others, you can have “guest artists” or private projects, but your core band is always there for you. You can trust that core relationship with your soul mate as you explore other ways together and apart.

I realized that this was such a beautiful way for Mike to be able to understand what he has been wanting to experience and release the fear that had been present in the past around the choices he’d made.

When exploring his questions around money and abundance, he received  similar messages where his guide kept showing him the different “bread crumbs” he’s been leaving behind so he knows the right path to follow, “the trail that leads me to my knowing”. Reading books and watching movies that inspire him will lead him down the right path for his book and workshops.

When we opened the rest of the session to other souls that would like to connect with him, he  realized Ash, his son, chose them as parents because they were strong enough to support his hard path and he had made a conscious choice to deal with addiction in this lifetime. Mike really experienced compassion at this point for Ash’s difficult path and realized that it takes a very strong soul to choose this path of addiction. He would now see his son in a different light.

He then discovered his soul name “Na-ion” (like Lion) and his essence, “I am a courageous and bold soul.” The lion symbol will continue to show up to remind him of who he really is.

The main message of his LBL is that there is no wrong way to live his life and that fear is not real. He is here to explore and grow with courage and remember that there is always more than one way to do things.

Here is what he wrote to me after the LBL session:

Life has shifted even further for Samantha (wife) and me. We are creating a spiritual relationship where we are here to help empower and nurture each other’s soul growth and experiences as eternal souls rather than being focused on the ego construct of needing to complete each other. There’s more than one way! There’s more than one way! I love her more than ever and am excited to see her blossom and grow. It’s about enjoying the cosmic dance and feeling the playfulness of life! It’s beautiful. Thank you for facilitating such a profound experience for me. ♦
