Merging with one’s Main Spirit Guide – Our ‘Greater Soul’

Michael Newton wrote in a personal note to his students: “In our work we find it is our personal spirit guides that have compassion for our lives. This would seem to be especially true when we consider soul counseling that takes place by our guides right after physical death on Earth. Grief, fear, pain, rage and sorrow are part of our life here, and some spirit guides, who are now beings of light, have gone through this experience themselves. As people approach death they worry about their loss of identity and personhood and so an LBL experience can be comforting to them. We find that there are superior beings with whom we come in contact in the Afterlife as Souls who appear to care a great deal about our progress during life on Earth.”
Soon after entering the higher realm of the afterlife, the journeyers usually meet their personal guide. In my experience as LBL facilitator, every human has at least one main Spirit Guide and a group of higher entities as additional helpers which may include loving deceased ones (humans or animals), highly evolved teachers, ascended masters and/or occasionally a consciousness collective such as the Christ or Buddha consciousness. This helper group stands more in the background. Meeting with the personal Guide is mostly perceived as a gently approaching being of light, seldom two or three. The guides themselves are described in transparent white or color, with a human like contour or as a huge angelic being, and always as benevolent. I ask my clients which other energy qualities they sense and if the energy has a more female, male, androgynous or gender-neutral quality. The guide’s radiance is perceived quite individually. In the beginning, a warm, kind, gentle contact takes place, often including a light tender touch. A first supportive telepathic message might be received and then a flow of their healing energy streaming towards the journeyers, charging them up and embracing them.
Gradually, they sense being totally flooded and enfolded by their unconditional love, compassion, tranquility, comfort, joy, understanding, appreciation, reliability, support, strength, tenderness, wisdom and more. Many guides also reveal a beautiful humor which cheers their protégé up. Finally, a merging takes place between the journeyer’s Soul and the guide. Two individual entities energetically become one. Being totally infused, wrapped and merged is felt as widely expanding, strengthening, blissful, and sometimes even overwhelming intense. I anchor that bond repeatedly in the LBL session. The following dialogues between client and guide are described in many case stories. They include the answers to the client’s questions which are mostly about their chosen life purpose, soul mates, coping with problems, challenges, healing and transformation.
In my first own LBL, I perceived my guide as a huge, transparent blue-violet angelic being of light, wrapping me from above widely with his energy. I sensed his essence as protective, ineffably kind and immensely powerful, myself as being bathed in light, love, bliss and strength. He gave me his name, and then short and crisp answers to my life questions, the typical communication style of angelic beings. I felt largely expanded, being a part of him and he being a part of me becoming one unity of light and energy. Meanwhile, I understand this merging with the main guide as enlargement into our Greater Soul. “Lovers don’t finally meet somewhere. They’re in each other all along,” is one Rūmī saying. In my LBL practice, it became obvious to me that the “journeyer” has similar light qualities than their main guide and therefore are ascribed to each-other: two individual beings, yet allied as a couple in a specific role relationship for an evolutionary task.
The clients’ meeting and communion with their Soul group, which might include deceased and living ones, with a council of wise beings or a spirit helper group is also perceived as pleasant, joyful, enlightening and wholesome. They are also reported in many LBL case stories. The human feeling of being alone and separate in the world is often healed, as well as unresolved issues in relationships from this current or a past life. It is often an experience of becoming aware, of reconciliation, connectedness and belonging. Yet, in my experience it has not that intense energetic impact of expansion and enlargement into a greater existential being as the deep merging with one’s main guide.
From my regular follow-ups two to three months after the session, I am sure that the reunion with the main guide and expansion into the Greater Soul in the LBL state has a deep, enduring transformational impact. It comes into effect, if clients apply the transpersonal communication with their guides on a regular basis in their daily life. Therefore I recommend it to my clients several times during and after their session. We receive higher guidance through intuition, vision, inspiration, impulses, signs and synchronicities. The specific intuitive senses with which individuals perceive their guides become obvious during the LBL session, unless they have not been known before.
I always ask the guides how their protégé can contact them simplest and easiest in their normal life. It may be through inner seeing (clairvoyance), hearing (clairaudience), sensing (felt sense), feeling (clairsentience) or knowing (claircognition), and also through combined senses. During my LBL sessions, I am usually in felt sense and claircognition contact with my main guide and other spirit helpers. While lying in bed and being in the hypnagogic trance I am in deep union with them through clairvoyance and clairaudience, seeing and hearing them inside. Anyway, continuing this conscious contact is tremendously healing, enriching and lightening up. I am deeply grateful and think sometimes, how I could ever cope with life in this time in particular not having access to this wonderful spiritual recourse and resource. The communication with one’s guide needs practice like a foreign language which we had spoken as a child but forgotten after moving to another country. In the first months, withdrawing to a quiet location, going inward and calming down are preconditions. With ongoing practice and experience, it becomes easier and more natural. Ideally, we are able to be connected wherever we are or what we do. The degree of depth and intensity always correlates with our inner state of being and receptiveness.
If the ancient wisdom and channeled prophecies are true, we evolve slowly into a “true image” of God, become fully conscious, loving and creating Divine beings while we expand our existence into higher dimensions. If we trust our innermost knowing and faith, we cannot fail whatever we feel, do or not do, whatever life paths we go. We are anyway lovingly held and guided by our spirit helpers as well as by the greatest power of all: the Divine intent, an evolutionary plan for me as individual, for humankind, Earth and all creation. However, guides and helpers don’t act upon our Earthly plane. They respect our “free will”, whatever we decide and do, wittingly or unwittingly.
On rare occasions, they step in for us in life-threatening moments and directly influence the physical reality to keep us safe. They want us as their co-partners essentially, as fully conscious and responsible co-creators, and they support evolving into this higher functioning. The veil between our earthly spacetime reality and the “beyond” seems to become thinner. Around the globe, reports of “emerging experiences” are reported exponentially. I believe, we are collectively in the 5th dimension more often, maybe without realizing it, and an increasing number of people expand into higher ones from time to time. Spirit guides are reflective of our inner states of being and spiritual connectedness. Without any judgement, they survey how we raise our vibrations and expand our consciousness; how we progress in the “ascension” and “light body process”, how freely and fully we live from our heart. They accompany and support our evolutionary process by infusing us with their love, energy, inspiration, advice and wisdom. In addition, in my understanding a powerful attractor force is acting from a divinely ordained future destination upon the present reality in a retro-causal, retro-reflexive way.
Many clients have the feeling after their LBL session that they had known some of the answers to their questions before. “I knew this already deep inside”, they tell me afterwards. This just means that their intuition and connectedness was confirmed by the session. Therefore, I encourage my clients to trust their Soul, this beautiful unique light, their Divine gifts and powers, to trust their guidance from helpers and companions in the spirit world. To remind that they are an instrument of the Divine evolutionary plan with the intent to evolve towards their destination of oneness, all-love, all-consciousness, all-power, freedom, peace and bliss. In painful, anxious or desperate moments, imagine letting yourself fall into the wings of your guide, being held, wrapped and bathed in their unconditional love and strength. You can communicate with them, you may ask for answers, advice and help. “Ask and you will be given.” We receive in appropriate ways (not necessarily as a lottery win).
