When Lauren first came to my office for Past Life Regression, she was going through a major transitional period in her life. She had just lost one of her closest friends to cancer, and around the same time, she also lost her job. It was a challenging time for her, but her perky personality shone through, and she was full of curiosity about the spiritual realm. She was a long-time meditation practitioner and was naturally guided into a trance state. She explored her past life as an American Civil War soldier who died on a battlefield in Virginia. Her guide shared that Lauren’s soul tends to become too serious about life.
About a year later, Lauren returned to my office for a Life Between Lives session, which had been her original intention the year prior. She shared that many things happened over the past 12 months, but that she finally landed a job that she enjoys and feels grateful. Lauren is 43 years old and is managing people in a corporation.
During our pre-talk, Lauren confessed that she almost canceled the session. She said,
“I was tidying up the house one day and found the card you gave me from our last session in my drawer. It seemed like a sign that I should do LBL, so I made an appointment. But then I started to feel anxious as my appointment day approached. What if I hear things I didn’t want to hear? What if I discover something unpleasant? I lost motivation and thought I should cancel my appointment. Then, that night, one of my old friends appeared in a dream. It was an interesting dream, and I felt nostalgic. When I woke up the next morning, I wanted to know how she was doing. Then I found out she had passed away.”
She said that the dream felt like another sign, so she decided not to cancel her appointment.
The questions that she wanted to explore through LBL were:
How can I be happier?
What can I do to bring more joy into my life?
If there is a purpose or learning that I should do in this life, if so, what is it?
Once the session began, Lauren was naturally guided into a trance like the last time.
In The Womb
I used the traditional LBL method and regressed her to her younger time as Lauren before visiting the spiritual realm. When she was recalling the memories from her time in her mother’s womb, she became a little emotional. Although she sensed her strong connection with her mother and the environment in which she was going to be born, she said she didn’t spend a lot of time in her fetus’s body in the womb. She spent more time with her soulmates, who she would meet later in life. With them, she discussed their plans to meet with each other and what might happen. Like teenagers talking about their future plans, she said. She expressed complicated feelings about being born. Although it would be an exciting journey, she felt deep sadness at the moment of separation from her soulmates and the spiritual realm. She didn’t like the feeling of separation from the spiritual realm as she transitioned to her physical reality.
“I want to have both awareness of the soul and the physical. Being in the body, I can’t have both. I don’t like that,” she relayed.
Past Life As A Wealthy French Man
After having a beautiful yet emotional womb-time experience, Lauren arrived at one of her past lives as a guy named Charles who lived in the French countryside a couple hundred years ago. In the first scene, Charles was in his 50s. He is lying in bed and looking outside from the window.
Client (C): “I am looking at the people working on my land. They are all full of life. One woman in particular stands out to me. She is working hard.”
Charles said he has a respiratory illness and that he is getting weaker. I asked if the woman he was looking at was someone special to him. He said she is just one of the many people who works for him.
C: “When I look at her, I realize I’ve spent my life focusing on the wrong things, like money. But that woman, for example, is different. Her values are different. I envy those people who have simple and down-to-earth values. I also envy them for being healthy.”
[Continues in a sad voice.]
C: “When I was well, I had some friends but didn’t value friendships or social interactions. So now that I’m sick, I’m lonely. My servants take care of me. I may have been married in the past, but there is no sign of her presence in the house today. It doesn’t matter whether I’m rich or not. A simple life is beautiful. I wish my life were different.”
Charles never got better, and he passed away.
Meeting With the Guide
A great warm light came over him as Charles’ soul left his body. The guide, whose name is Gredan, welcomed Charles’ soul.
C: “Charles had a very cold life. The light and Gredan are warming up the soul.”
Gredan appeared as a man with long hair. He had more masculine energy than feminine. She got the impression that Gredan could change form, but he appeared in this particular form because it served well for this occasion.
Facilitator (F): “What does Gredan think of Charles’ life?”
C: “Gredan said, ‘What did you think?'”
F: “What was your answer?”
C: “I replied I didn’t achieve anything. I didn’t like that life. Gredan seems to be amused. He anticipated it would be tough. He reminded me that my soul always wants to do what I think is right for me. He’s amused when things don’t turn out how I thought. “
She smiled.
C: “He said my soul is eager. I’m always eager to accomplish things, and I do a lot of the time. But I always throw myself into it when having a physical experience. So, my soul always seems to have a hard time transitioning between the physical and the spiritual world because I always get into whatever I am at. I am convinced I can have both, but I get into it so much when I am in a body, which can be good for growth, but the transition is hard.”
F: “Is Gredan telling you that you can have both?”
C: “Yes, but I am learning not to force it the way I always try to. I am learning. In order to have both, I have to do more surrendering than forcing. It’s the forcing that gets me into trouble. It’s forcing me to take life too seriously. It seems like I had a lot of luck in my earlier lives, so it became a habit. Now, I am learning a different path. That’s why the transition is hard because it’s all about surrender. He said, ‘You are learning, hum?'”
Then, her guide, Gredan, took her soul to the library. The library is a magnificent place. It is made of white marble, old wood, and some metal-like material. It is a very sturdy building. She said she gets the impression that it will never be destroyed no matter what happens.
There is a big table with a large book on it. When the book was opened, energy appeared in a dome shape instead of in the form of letters and pictures.
F: “What are you discovering through the book?”
C: “I didn’t expect to ask him so soon, but I want to know why Lauren can’t move forward to find joy in this life. It feels like there is a ceiling that blocks her from finding joy. I am not sure if this is the right time and place to ask my question, but I asked him.”
F: “What did he say?”
C: “He says because I strung my pain together over lifetimes and wore it around my neck like a necklace as if it has a meaning to hold onto. But it doesn’t mean anything.”
Then she became emotional as if she felt the presence of the necklace.
F: “Is it possible to let go of this necklace?”
C: “He said I need to replace it with something other than the pain. Very true. He said I could let it go only if I understood why I started doing it. It’s part of the problem. “
She paused for a while and continued.
C: “Because I want my way. I force it. He said when you commit to the path of forcing your will rather than surrendering, you accumulate negativity easily and hold onto it. It doesn’t mean you can’t ever force anything. It’s more about having a balance with surrender.”
Then she described that her current life as Lauren is different from the other lives because she has started to surrender.
C: “I don’t like choosing a female life because you are more likely to experience surrender. I am not good at surrendering. So, I was going to pick a male body again in this life. Then, Gredan said, ‘Are you sure?’ It was the first act of surrendering for me to listen to him. Then he picked Lauren’s life for me.”
F: “So you surrender this time even before you were born.”
C: “Yes. Because I stopped going my own way and surrendered, I was given the gift of hearing the voice of my soul and my guides in the physical reality a little more than ever before. Through this experience, I have learned every time you give up something, you gain more. I am learning.”
She also described that the Civil War life we explored in the PLR made her more open-minded about surrendering.
C: “It was the Civil War life; I gave up everything in that life. That’s when I started to get the taste of that. It was pure giving up. It was hard, but it’s OK.”
In the Civil War Soldier Life, her past life self, Eames, experienced a disastrous battle. His personality was soft for a male and killing people on the battlefield wasn’t what he wanted. In the end he died due to injuries with complete surrender.
C: “That life eventually became like a cleanse, and it softened me. So, I became more open to the suggestion of my guide.”
Gredan explained that forcing will and surrendering is like yin and yang, and that both have value. We pick both in different times and quantities. However, my soul liked one side a lot, so I kept choosing similar lives. Lauren’s life is the first journey to pick the other to balance it out.
“I agreed to be where there is no choice but to surrender. It took a while because I was forcing too long in the past. It takes longer to get what you want it to be now. Gredan said it’s not my job to direct the flow.”
She said that her soul is about to enter midlife in the soul age.
C: “In terms of the age of my soul, I have entered middle age. I had many lives, but most seem to have been very short. I am eager, so life tends to be shorter. Haha. So, it’s counting the amount of time I have experienced rather than the number of lives.”
She also said that in this lifetime, as Lauren, she can finally start using the knowledge and lessons she accumulated through different lives.
C: “I’ve gained a lot of knowledge and lessons in each of my lives, but I didn’t choose the life where I can put that knowledge to use. So, every time, it was like starting over from square one. I am in a different body and environment than I’ve ever had in Lauren’s life. I can finally use them. It’s like I can open the trunk and see what’s inside. Gredan tells me I’m on the right path. He doesn’t seem to want to praise me too much. Haha. He tells me to keep going. I’m trying to be calmer in this life while surrendering.”
She started asking Gredan more questions. He told her she was like someone who had used a telephone for the first time. You are eager! Too much knowing ruins the fun. Lauren was laughing. Gredan said when she meditates to connect with her higher self, he is there with her.
Meeting The Council
After spending a good amount of time in a beautiful cave to cleanse her energy, Gredan guided her to meet The Council. There are five big, tall beings wearing robes. She said she couldn’t see their faces somehow, which was fine for her because that could be intense. Five beings were sitting by a V-shaped table. She said, “I am standing before them, but it’s weird because I am still soaking wet from the cave.” Gredan positioned himself behind her quietly.
She said that The Councils’ energy is like a big old tree. It’s very calm and infinitely aged. It is unflappable, and talking to them feels like talking to eternity.
She started a telepathic conversation with the main Counselor in the middle.
C: “They want to know if I understood why I have come. I said I think so. I said, ‘Didn’t you bring me? I followed the flow. I was listening when they spoke.'”
There was a long pause and I asked her what was happening. She became emotional and started sobbing.
C: “They said, ‘You are free. What you think is constraining isn’t what you think it is. It’s permeable. What you wish you may have is what it will be when it will be. Do not dictate being. With each day that passes, you will feel freer. When you choose to do with the freedom, it would be yours. We are here to give you the energy. That is why you are called. Keep surrendering. Keep letting us in. Those doors are open, but sometimes you don’t let us in all the way. But everyday it’s better. You worry that things are ending when, in fact, it’s beginning. We are telling you almost nothing you never heard of because we always talk to you. We are talking to you.”
After a long pause, she said each being is forming their energy into something, and together, they made a single metal ring.
C: “Each figure sitting there forms the energy into a single piece of a metal ring. They put it around my neck. It never comes off. It’s not like it’s hurting me or anything. It’s the piece each gave me. It’s gold colored.”
F: “What does each of their energy represent?”
C: “Energies that hold together the physical existence. It’s hard to describe in words. Like the universe as the flower. Each of them is a petal.”
F: “What does it mean to put it around your neck?
C: “That’s a direct connection with them all the time. I won’t go through another life without it. It’s on me forever. I’ll have it forever.”
It was a profound moment for her. They gave her a symbol of their eternal connection with her.
C: “OK, I was shown how it all ties together. It reinforces Civil War life and allows me to have this necklace. My pure surrender in that life. They said I am an eager soul, headstrong on Earth.”
She laughed.
C: “I told them I fear not experiencing love in this life. They said It’s impossible not to experience love. The whole universe is love. You are within the universe. You can’t possibly be outside of love.”
And her meeting with the Council ended.
Meeting with the Soul Group
After the Council’s meeting, Gredan guided her to meet some of her soul group members. She instantly became emotional at the meeting of her soul mates.
C: “I don’t know who they are, but I really love them. There’s like at least three people.”
F: “Are they the same soul energies you were talking about in your womb?”
C: “Yes. But I haven’t gotten to know who they are yet. It doesn’t matter.”
F: “Can you describe their energy? And your soul group’s energy?”
C: “We are really happy with each other…”
C: “My friend who passed recently came to see me, too. She isn’t in my group, but she came. When I met her, we worked at Applebee’s, so we are both wearing Applebee’s uniforms now, which is ridiculous. Haha.”
F: “How is she doing?”
C: “She’s good. I said I was sorry we didn’t reunite while she was alive. She said it’s OK. She said when we were friends, I warmed her heart when she could never get warm. And so, she said goodbye in the hopes that she could give some warmth back. She isn’t in my group. She is in a close group. We see each other in different lives. We give each other gifts to keep each other going.”
Last Stop: Flying Around Space
After the emotional and loving reunion with her soul friends, Gredan invited her to explore space.
C: “Gredan asked if I wanted to fly around space. I definitely do!”
She was exploring and saw the evolution of planets and space. She said she was grateful for this experience.
F: “Have you experienced living on a different planet other than Earth?”
C: “Initially, I think I was someplace else originally. I heard about Earth, and I wanted to do that instead. It was a really early stage of my soul.”
F: “Why was the earth interesting to you?”
C: “Because I am eager. I wasn’t getting enough stimulation or something. I am not able to recall it clearly. It’s almost like I was so young as a soul… My memories are more metaphoric. Maybe it was almost a metaphoric place? It wasn’t a super concrete place.”
F: “Is there nature there?”
C: “It’s all the colors, but there aren’t many tangible things. I was intrigued by the idea of time and space. The other place has less of that. In terms of how they communicate, it is more advanced than Earth, but I don’t know about other things… Honestly, I am not sure if ‘advanced’ is the accurate word to describe it. It’s hard to put words. It’s so foreign… It’s hard to talk about. I don’t think humans have a word to describe it. It’s like our bodies are not terribly solid. Their existence is more attuned to your mind than your form. Therefore, their shape is always changing.”
She explored this place for a while, then the time to close the session had come.
C: “That world has a beautiful sunset. Or something set… It’s beautiful. It’s how Gredan tells me the time is coming to an end.”
After The Session
Lauren sent me this note a few weeks after the session and shared how the experience of LBL changed her consciousness in everyday life.
“I have been doing really great. I can’t say I felt too different right after the LBL, but in the subsequent days I am feeling better and better. It truly feels like a huge weight of negative emotions I had been carrying around was lifted. I have been truly trying to take to heart the overriding message I felt I was given, which was don’t take stuff too seriously and go with the flow. There were some home repair challenges that occurred immediately after my LBL and where I normally would have gotten frustrated and angry I decided to let go and allow what needed to happen, happen. It made an experience that should have been a total headache barely affect me. I am more forgiving and compassionate with myself which by extension has given me more capacity for others and in general made me even more open and receptive. My stress levels have dramatically decreased. And I am generally more content and happier than I was before. That part is kinda wild because before the LBL I was already more content and happier but this increased those feelings exponentially. My intuition is even stronger.”
As a facilitator, I feel privileged to witness the pivotal moments where the soul recognizes her growth and evolution. Lauren’s LBL is one of those sessions that makes me ponder and I am grateful for it. ♥
