The Greatest Transition of All

Transitions. Small or big. Miniature or massive. They happen when we leave one world and move on to the next reality. Through this process, we grow, evolve and learn. As we do, we morph and become the next version of who we are. There are various transitions and modes of change. It seems that the greatest is the one where we leave this plane of existence and move onto the next one. This is the one transition where we all meet our immortal Self, the Soul or essence of our true being.

For those of us who are familiar with the work of Dr. Newton and have had those LBL sessions for ourselves and others, the Afterlife seems (rightfully) like home to which we belong and look forward to returning. In a way, it is such a gift to be able to know, with assurance and peace in our hearts, that after the ‘final day’ in this lifetime, we get to return somewhere beautiful. It gives much reassurance to know, that on the path home we do not need to fear being alone for our loving guides are here to meet us, while loving souls and amazing places of regenerations await us.

This knowingness gives so much peace, not just around the thoughts of death, but also during the journey of life as well. Unfortunately, this certainty and confidence in the Spirit world is not the case for everyone. I do meet people where there is fear or uncertainty around the greatest transition of all: the ‘death’ as we call it. It is so important to know how to listen to this fear.

I always learn and expand my awareness when meeting with genuine human concern around the topics of death and dying. As people share with me their fears around the departure there is this beautiful possibility to explore with curiosity and love.

It has been a big blessing to explore these questions, specifically with friends and dear ones, who sensed the big Gate to the other side, as the dates near their lifeline shimmered in a not-too-distant future. It was amazing to witness as they become aware that the due date is ‘not far off’. I have had great privilege to stand next to few amazing souls as they departed this world and learn first-hand about the transitions as well as the sacredness of the ‘departure process’ or the greatest transition of all, if I may describe it this way.

These transitions vary and are so personal as the soul’s lifeline is. There is one beautiful, amazing and inspiring transition in particular, that I so wish to share with you, dear reader, for I believe that there is great gift in it for all of us. I am sure that this Soul would love to share with you the beauty of her experience (gifting all of us the idea that this, too, is a possibility).

I knew this person very well, as she was a great well-known intellectual in my home country. She came from the era of socialism and was ‘’raised as a communist’’, and here I am quoting her. Early on in her life she was fascinated with eastern philosophy of Indian Vedas and Sufism, and in the 70s she travelled to India, Iraq and Iran. Back in those days, way before the word of past lives got out into the public, she experienced mystical experiences as if she had been in those places before. She brought her study of mystical Vedas to university as part of her degree of philosophy, during socialist communism in former Yugoslavia and almost gave the university Dean a heart attack (her own words). Her life was immersed into the culture in which she was born, and yet she managed to keep her spiritual interest alive and cultivate high ethical endeavours that would shape the culture she was part of during her lifetime. Our paths crossed over the decades, firstly when I was a young student and had come to her as a professor, and decades later as we met upon my return to Slovenia and cultivated a highly sensible intellectual and metaphysical friendship. She wrote a forward for my latest book that openly discusses topics of spirituality, past lives, afterlife, and the mystical union with higher Power. I was so blessed to know her and enjoyed reading her poetry.

But our most transcendent dimension of relationship revealed itself only in the last phase of her life.

As she was much older, she told me that she knew her time would come. She wanted to ‘know death’ before dying. We both knew, that through her metaphysical poetry, she had touched and explored the ‘other world’ and yet she yearned to ‘touch and physically know’, the world that we call the Afterlife. Therefore, we opened the gates for months of deep meditations and explored this dimension in a way that was uniquely suited to her character and needs.

I remember her words to me in the aftermath of it: ‘’I have met peace beyond wanting… anything other than to bring this peace with me when I depart this world.’’ Those words… that peace travelled with her, as her departure become the most peaceful beautiful and inspiring journey home that I have ever witnessed.
A few nights after her departure, she visited me in a dream. She was glowing with beauty, joy and love. ‘’The Afterlife is even more beautiful than what I perceived of it on earth…’’. She smiled and embraced me with her Loving presence and so much peace it still vibrates in me as I write this. ♥
