The Art of Embracing Transformation
I once came across a statement that has lingered in my mind: “All change happens for our own benefit.” At first, I met it with skepticism. Everything? Really? Those words seemed too idealistic. Yet, as the years passed and as life has unfolded, I began to unravel the profound meaning behind that simple phrase. I have learned that when we shift our perspective—when we transform ourselves to truly grasp that life happens for us, not to us—everything begins to align more harmoniously.
Change, I have discovered, is not just an unwelcome intruder in our lives; it is, in fact, a powerful call forward. It propels us, often against the resistance of our ego, which clings to the comfort of the familiar. It is our ego that fears the tumult of transformation, and it is our ego that resists change while advocating for the safety of the status quo. However, from the soul’s perspective, such resistance feels illogical. Our higher consciousness thrives when we embrace growth, expansion, and the continuous evolution of our being. As the Buddha wisely observed long ago, the only permanent thing in our lives is change. Change is an intrinsic aspect of existence, a natural tide that flows through every living entity. From the moment we are born, we are thrust into a world of transformation. We grow, we mature, and we learn—yet it is the leaning and growth that occur on a soul level, with the insights gained from adapting to all those changes and transitions in life, that truly hold the greatest significance.
As we journey onward, our bodies undergo inevitable changes, often reaching a point where they can no longer sustain us, leading us to the final transformation of leaving this earthly plane.
In recent years I have been blessed with meeting with clients/people that have come to a mature age, and who with this older age have undergone a profound shift, a change in discovering their spiritual nature. It seems that whilst the body is giving way to age –their souls are stepping forward and shining through the physical appearance. It is only natural that one would seek a deeper spiritual connection, and a regression session seems to be a wonderful way to answer this call.
On one occasion prior to our session a client told me: “In my younger years I did not have much time for spirituality, I was too absorbed in the ‘day to day living’, where everything needed to be done before my needs were even considered. Now as the pace of life has changed, and I get more time to myself- I meditate more, I find time to read spiritual books and I feel as if this part of life is all about preparing for the most important journey of my life. A journey that will take me home. I am practicing letting go, trusting the process, leaning into the discomfort of ‘unknown’ and yet I sense that it so familiar. I know that the final stage is my greatest transformation, and I am beginning to feel deeply that every ending births a new beginning. If I look back on my life, it always was so. In this ongoing journey, called life, I have learned to see change as a beloved companion that has always been guiding toward my highest self.’’
The regression journey we made was able to enrich her perspective as well as mine. Her journey took us beyond one life into many past lives she had lived. She saw herself changing bodies, environments and countries while each life gave her an opportunity to experience herself differently. She observed her soul’s growth and evolution. She became aware how through time she had learned about life on earth and its laws, how she became more adapted to this planet and how her lives became enriched with her experiences and gained wisdom and abilities. By exploring her soul’s journey— we saw her embrace the experiences that made her grow –and ultimately as she stood in the spirit world and entered the great library she saw the book of her lives. Every page accounted experiences, all of them reflecting changes of her path, and her understanding. She had grown into a relatively old and mature soul who now had much to give. Her experiences have given her wisdom that emanates and calms down everyone who is near her. She was told that now in the ‘final’ stages of this lifetime, she has become the wisdom keeper, who knows the art of transformation. She is here to tell her story and encourage others to know and remember: ‘Life is here for you. Fear not life but rather trust it. For it is that when we open ourselves to trust we invite a richer, more fulfilling experience of life, allowing us to flourish amidst the ebb and flow of existence.
Change, I have learned, is not merely an occurrence but a beautiful tapestry woven into the fabric of our lives, urging us to grow, evolve, and ultimately, to flourish. Once we allow that realization to enter our subconscious minds, we flow with life much more easily and effortlessly. We know that changes happen for our highest good. Always. ♥
