Since the theme of this issue is Connections with Loved Ones in All Dimensions, here — unlike in my usual columns — I share for once a dramatic case, as an example of the tremendous healing capacity of spiritual connection and communication in LBL sessions. I am including a lengthy verbatim excerpt to illustrate the vividness of the healing process.
A lifelong depression and loneliness — triggered by the suicide of her twin brother when they were 16 years old — was healed in a single LBL session through a dramatic reunion with his soul. The client regained her drive and zest for life. With deep understanding and compassion, she was able to break free from clinging to him and let go of her resentment, her grief over the earthly loss, her heavy guilt feelings, and her excessive sense of responsibility. Her mood improved instantly. She found inner peace and reconnected with her inner source of joy. It was as if she had been trapped in a cave for 42 years, unable to truly live her life. For her, the LBL experience was a rebirth. She began to recall her gifts, talents, and interests, and to see and love herself as a special person — calm, kind, loved, cheerful, creative, and connected to others and her spirit guide. My soul is now unfolding in many ways.
Evelyn (pseudonym), was 58, a technical drafter, mother of four adult children, and married to a successful architect. Her chronic depression, which had lasted for four decades, began after her beloved twin brother, Sven (pseudonym), committed suicide at the age of 16. She describes their mother as cold and harsh, as someone who beat both children well into their teenage years, though the brother was beaten more frequently and severely while the father was absent. The depression was Evelyn’s constant companion, only exacerbated by the infidelity of her husband, who had been having an affair for years. She was consumed by grief and sorrow over the loss of Sven, by deep guilt for not having saved him, and even by a sense of responsibility for his soul. She had visions of him trapped in a state of desperate lostness: not merely in a Christian purgatory, but in a void of utter emptiness.
Excerpt from the session: Having lived an unremarkable past life, death came as a liberating experience. She initially perceives only darkness, almost a pitch-black void, as she transitions to the afterlife, followed by increasingly more light.
E (Evelyn): A light is drawing closer
D (Dorothea): What do you feel?
E: A sense of security and warmth.
D: Feel it as intensely as possible.
E: But there is no one there.
D: Who are you waiting for?
E: My friends.
D: Have a little more patience.
E: There is a being of light near me.
D: Could it be your spirit guide?
E: Yes, it is a male figure.
D: What does he radiate?
E: He tells me not to worry. He fills me and envelops me with powerful love. His name is Tamo. He says he has always been with me.
D: That is very healing. You can feel this connection with him in your daily life at any time — whenever you wish and whenever it does you good. Simply recall this and then feel and sense it once more.
She wants me to ask her guide Tamo the questions she has about her life.
Here is a summary of his answers: Her life’s purpose is to give and receive as much love as possible, and she is already fulfilling this goal quite well. He says what she is missing is contact with children. Now is not the time to die; instead, she should look forward to her grandchildren with joy. Before incarnating, her soul sought to dissolve an old sense of pride through the painful experiences of this life — it no longer wanted to place itself above or below other people. Tamo confirms that all such pride has since vanished and acknowledges her humility. When asked how old wounds can heal, he replies: Through kindness, goodwill, recognition, appreciation — and perhaps even through her husband’s betrayal. She could find joy and happiness in her life by ceasing to take on problems, work, and responsibility for others. He notes that, as adults, everyone must take responsibility for themselves. Tamo acknowledges that she raised the four children on her own because her husband never devoted much time to them. He emphasizes that it is to her credit that their children have grown into such well-adjusted and wonderful adults. Evelyn feels unburdened by his responses and grateful for his recognition.
Here begins the deeply healing part of the LBL experience: Tamo confirmed her question as to whether she and her brother Sven had agreed upon his suicide prior to his incarnation. She reacted with heart-wrenching weeping that was almost unbearable for her. Then she began to rail against Tamo. I encouraged her to give voice to her “sacred” anger.
E: He was torn away from me without warning. Why? Our soul is split! She screamed in anger.
D: Dear Guide, what did her soul intend to learn from this painful loss? And how can she heal and become whole again?
E: I want him back.
D: Tamo, please allow her to meet his soul now.
D: Evelyn, you are about to see, to feel, and sense him. You can tell him anything and ask him anything you wish.
She perceives Sven and pleads tearfully: Stay with me now; don’t leave me! She feels Sven holding her in his arms.
E: We are reunited. He must stay with me.
D: How do you perceive him?
E: He is whole and I am whole, and now I am going to devour him so that he stays with me. (she is weeping and screaming) We are forming a beautiful circle now. He must stay with me. Unfortunately, he isn’t saying anything.
D: Ask him why he passed so early and separated himself from you and from the Earth.
E: He says I wasn’t the reason and wasn’t involved either. I had nothing to do with his suicide. Sven tells her: It was too terrible down there; I couldn’t bear it any longer and therefore had to leave.
D: Ask him where he is now and how he is doing there. Ask him if a part of his soul has been reincarnated.
E: Yes, he tells me that he has been reincarnated somewhere on Earth — far away from here, in New Zealand — and that he is doing well, is married, and has two daughters. But where am I supposed to go? A part of him ought to stay with me.
D: Ask him if it’s all right for you to meet him every now and then, like today.
E: No, I won’t ask. He should stay with me. He should stay — please! (in a desperately angry voice).
D: I understand that deep desire. However, you must respect his free will and his path.
E: He is asking now why he is so important to me. What a stupid question!
D: Could it be that he was a sort of substitute for the parental love that was missing?
E: We only had each other.
D: I understand that completely. However, you both have individual identities, and he has the fundamental right to go his own way.
E: Wasn’t I important to him, then?
D: Of course you were important to him.
E: Sven doesn’t want to stay with me; he wants to go his own way.
D: You can still stay connected with him. It’s not an either – or situation. Ask him if you might contact him occasionally on that spiritual level.
E: He says that’s actually impossible, but he’s leaving a small part of himself with me. And he asks why I cry so much over him. — She scolds: You fool! You know the answer to that. Fool, you fool! How can anyone be so stupid? He knows how much I miss him; he just doesn’t want to admit it and doesn’t want me to miss him.
D: I detect some selfishness here, because you want to possess him, and that isn’t your right. If you truly loved him, you would let him go free.
E: That’s true.
D: It’s understandable because your younger, childlike, and adolescent self clings to him for the sake of security and love. But as an adult sister, you love him deeply; and you want him to be well and to thrive.
E: Yes, absolutely. I just thought he missed me too.
D: He might miss you sometimes, and he certainly loves you.
E: It has simply been a shock.
D: You were angry that he left you.
E: No.
D: But right now, you expressed your anger quite clearly. Sixteen-year-old Evelyn was unconsciously angry that he had left her so abruptly.
E: Very much so.
D: And as the adult Evelyn, you can let him go because you love him; you can never truly lose him, and you are never truly apart. Your connection will endure forever.
E: I’m happy that he has such a good life, a loving family, and is following his own path.
D: You see, that makes you truly happy. He may wish to gather many more life experiences.
E: He deserves all the happiness in the world.
D: Ask him if you will ever see each other again in this incarnation.
E: No. He says I don’t need him and that he isn’t as important as I think. He is leaving a part of himself with me and taking a large part with him.
D: Do you see that he was something of a father figure to you back then?
E: Yes. Now I can let him go.
D: Keep him in your heart, and you will always remain connected to him.
D: Tamo, does Evelyn need anything else for her healing?
Tamo: She can heal now.
D: What is her soul’s ultimate goal?
Tamo: To go into the light and to be light.
D: Please allow her to experience this for a moment now. I am now letting her immerse herself in the light and encouraging her to sense and feel it intensely for a few minutes — and to do so again and again in her current life.
Her initial feedback four days after the LBL session: “A few lines expressing gratitude and joy. The session helped me incredibly. I can only say that I feel an enormous sense of relief… I can hardly describe this change… Finally, I am moving through life with a lighter burden. I am calm, cheerful, and carefree. I owe this to you and your wonderful work… I thank you from the bottom of my heart and will never forget it.”
Follow-up after 3 months (written, followed by a phone call): “I am really looking forward to our final phone call, even though things couldn’t have gone better. I have a completely different outlook on life now and feel so much better than I did before the LBL session with you.”
She writes to be regularly in contact with her spirit guide, Tamo, to receive impulses from him, and experiences the communication as playful. She also remembers the reflection of her soul from the session as a beautiful blue light that radiated peace, a sense of security, joy, and playfulness, and built bridges. She was able to let go of the attachment to her twin brother and overcome deep-seated resentment and sadness. The previously tormenting feelings of guilt and the burden of responsibility have vanished. She has found inner peace, even though she views herself as a loner and believes she is easily taken advantage of by others. However, her general mood has improved significantly since the session. She realized that she is a truly creative person and has started drawing and painting again after a very long hiatus. Her fear of death has disappeared.
Further written feedback after 6 months: “It was such a beneficial experience for me — one for which I will be eternally grateful. I am doing very well… I am much calmer and more self-confident. My soul is unfolding in many different ways — and all at the same time! I can say that only now am I getting to know and love myself as a truly special person. Every day, I discover a new facet of myself and lovingly accept myself just as I am. After 42 years of stagnation, this is an absolutely unexpected joy! I experience so much love, recognition, appreciation, and friendship from the people around me that I know everything is genuine and good just as it is. The LBL experience with you made this possible — I am happy.”
By this point, there was no longer any trace of loneliness or sadness. After a few months, the LBL session led to a prevailing state of inner connectedness, joy, creativity, and love. ♥
